Data Security Policy (DSP) support is here for Jira Product Discovery!

We know that for many of you (especially those in larger organizations) security and compliance aren't just "nice to haves", they are essential for how you manage your product discovery data.

Today, I’m excited to share that Jira Product Discovery (JPD) now supports Atlassian Guard Data Security Policies (DSP).

Why we’re making this change

Our customers with Atlassian Guard expect organization-wide security controls to cover every Atlassian product they use. Until now, JPD spaces content wasn’t covered by DSP, which meant a gap in full policy compliance. This update closes that gap, bringing Jira Product Discovery in line with how other Jira products honor Guard DSPs.

What's changing

If your organization has Atlassian Guard Standard (or higher) and your org admin has configured a Data Security Policy that covers JPD, the following actions can now be restricted:

• Exporting views: Exporting a JPD view as a CSV or JPEG can now be blocked. If blocked, users will see a message: "Export is blocked by your organization's security policy." after trying to export a view
  
• Attachment downloads: Downloading attachments from an idea’s description, comments, or Insights can be restricted. A tooltip will appear over the download button if this is enforced.
  
• Public links: Creating or accessing public links to JPD views with anonymous access can be blocked. If a policy is enforced, any existing public links will immediately stop working for anonymous visitors.
  

Who is affected

This only applies if both of these are true for your organization:

• You have Atlassian Guard Standard (or higher)
• Your org admin has configured a Data Security Policy with a scope that covers your JPD space(s)

If you don’t use Atlassian Guard, or haven't set up a DSP for Jira Product Discovery, nothing changes for you!

What you need to do

Nothing! These policies are enforced automatically based on your admin's configuration.

If you are an org admin and want to review or set up a policy, you can find these settings under Atlassian Administration → Security → Data protection → Data security policy.
