Unable to Add a Custom Email Address

Hi, I've been trying to add a custom email address which is a google suite email address and the prompt is as follows: Unfortunately JIRA couldn't connect to the mail server. Here is what the mail server said: "[ALERT] Please log in via your web browser: https://support.google.com/mail/accounts/answer/78754 (Failure)" Check out our troubleshooting docs for help resolving the issue.

I've been through the troubleshooting docs and followed the exact instructions but this message kept popping up.

What will be the other ways to solve this? Thank you! :)

Have you tried having Less secure apps enabled for the desired account to see if that let's it work?

In checking again the links you posted, I see that you must have tried that already.

I haven’t tried this yet on cloud, less secure apps has done it for me in past server instances. 

I have a cloud instance I’ve been planning to do this to, so I’ll post back on how it goes.
