Hi. I was running a project on a jira cloud site. I'm the admin, and this was a free account. I haven't accessed the site since January but now I need to. When I try to log in it says "page unavailable," and Jira isn't listed as an app when I log into my Atlassian account. I tried to raise a ticket but it won't let me since it doesn't find my URL. It only lets me click to come here to this community. How do I access the proper assistance or raise a ticket when I have a free account but the jira site seems to be gone? Thanks.

Ouch! Sorry to hear that happened! :(

I'm totally not an expert at this, but from what I am aware of, Atlassian typically has an "inactivity" period for free plans. If you don't log in after a set amount of time, they most likely deactivate and/or delete your instance.

I think your approach with going to support.atlassian.com/contact is spot on! Even though it asks for a URL, there should be other options like "My Account" or "Billing" that allow you to bypass the URL requirement and explain your situation. Try to look for other relevant categories that don't strictly depend on a live jira instance, like "My Atlassian Account" or "General Inquiry". You may even get lucky and be able to submit a ticket AND be prompted to do a live chat instead. Folks in those chats are SUPER helpful! :)

If you do happen to make contact, try to give the support agents any and all the information you can think of!

Best of luck! :D

Hello @Andy Chatman

Free sites that have no activity for 120 days are deactivated, and then after a specified time period the data is permanently deleted. Emails are sent to the Organization admins and Billing and Technical contacts before either of those actions are taken.

That information is documented in a few places.

https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/what-is-the-free-jira-cloud-plan/

https://support.atlassian.com/security-and-access-policies/docs/track-storage-and-move-data-across-products/

At this point it sounds like your product subscription was deactivated and the data deleted. The data can't be recovered if it has been deleted. If it was still possible to reactivate the site and restore the data you would see that option in the pages available at https:// admin.atlassian.com

https://support.atlassian.com/subscriptions-and-billing/docs/reactivate-a-subscription/

When you have only free subscriptions you're not able to open a support case. You can contact the Billing, Licensing, and Purchasing support team through their web page at https://www.atlassian.com/company/contact/purchasing-licensing#/

Hoping someone can assist here. if we do not log into our new jira site but regularly the jira API to create a defect or check on existing issues will this be considered as inactivity or do we still need to login using the browser?

Hello @Joanne Henry

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

According to the following page "activity" is logging in and viewing a page. API usage doesn't qualify as activity.
