🚀 New features released for Home Dashboards beta!

We’re thrilled to release multiple new features that now expand our Home Dashboards beta, designed to help you uncover insights faster, and use them to keep critical work on track.

🌟 What’s new?

We’ve been hard at work releasing new features that simplify your teams ability understand how work is flowing, share updates, and take action.

Dashboard Insights

Get a brief summary and notable highlights from your dashboard data with Dashboard Insights. You can use this to quickly figure out what’s going on or go beyond the surface level by asking questions about what needs your attention.

Smart Link widgets

To ensure every viewer of your dashboard has the context they need to make sense of the data, we’re making it easy to embed external content with Smart Links. You can embed Atlassian content like Confluence pages, goal updates, or Loom videos, as well as content from over 30 third-party apps, helping you tell the right stories with your data.

For example, embed a loom video overview of the dashboard to keep the team connected on the data that matters.

Live Drilldowns

Jump directly from charts to the underlying work items or goals with a single click. Open the work item preview to make updates without leaving the dashboard. This transforms your dashboards into actionable launchpads for daily work.

 

Jira Service Management data points

We’ve released a host of new data points to help you report on your SLAs and request types. This allows you to report on your data across Jira, Goals, DevOps, and now Jira Service Management, all in one place.

When building a chart, select any of the metrics under “Jira family of apps” or “Jira Service Management”, then you can “group by” these new Jira Service Management data points:

• Channel

• Organization

• Portal group

• Request type

• Satisfaction rating

• SLA breached

• SLA cycle type

• SLA name

• SLA paused

• SLA start date

• SLA stop date

• Work category

📆 Features to keep an eye out for

We’re excited to keep expanding the Home Dashboards beta experience with more new features coming soon, including:

Single value chart

Highlight key metrics at a glance with the new single value chart type. Perfect for surfacing critical numbers and KPIs front and center.

Chart-level filtering

Add more granularity to your charts by applying up to 5 more filters to a single chart. This will unlock comparative reporting, allowing you to easily report across your teams, initiatives, and projects all from one dashboard!

📣 Get started

This beta is available for Standard, Premium, and Enterprise customers, with support for Free editions coming soon. Organization admins can opt in to the open beta via Atlassian Administration. To opt in, you’ll first need to activate platform experiences, which gives you access to Atlassian Home, Projects, Goals, and more.

If you’ve already activated platform experiences:

1. Go to Atlassian Administration. Select your organization if you have more than one.

2. Select Settings > Platform experiences.

3. Find the site and toggle on Beta features.

4. Review and confirm the terms, then select Enable.

If the features aren't suitable, you can opt-out at any time.

Im watching this for some time and waiting for jsm portion. 

I missed the "my pending approvals" metric.

With this we would have the best personal dash ever!

And how can I update my sites to have jsm portion of it?

Just tested the new Dashboards experience : looks really cool, great job to the team! 👏

Any chance some of these features (like drill-into, the new layout, etc.) could eventually make their way to the classic Jira dashboards as well?
That would be a fantastic improvement for many users already relying heavily on them.

• What REST API support will be provided to configure the new features with dashboards?
• What automation rule support will provided for them?

Loving the continuous evolution of the Home & Dashboards beta! These new updates are a step closer to making Jira not just a project management tool—but a true command center for every team member.

Favorites, quick links, and widgets like “Your Work” are incredibly useful for power users juggling multiple projects.
The new look is sleek and feels more modern and contextual, which is a welcome shift from the legacy dashboard structure.

Suggested improvement:
Would love to see the ability to add project-specific widgets, like:

• Recent issues from a specific project

• Quick filters directly on Home (e.g., “My overdue tasks” or “Pending approvals”)

• Customizable sections per user role (Admin, Product Owner, Dev, etc.)

A customizable, role-based home would be a game-changer, especially in scaled environments with multiple products/teams.
