Hello everyone!

We have an upcoming release of Jira Custom Project Templates, and we’d like to invite you to join a limited Early Access Program (EAP) for the Enterprise Edition!

What is Jira Custom Templates?

Jira customers will be able to create their own custom Jira project templates for both team-managed and company-managed projects.

Custom templates will allow you to:

• Scale standardized ways of working across your organization.
• Save Jira Admins time that they would have spent customizing each new Jira project to reflect organization’s practices and processes.
• Help teams get up and running on new Jira projects faster.

Who are we looking for?

Jira Enterprise Admins who would like to try Jira Custom Templates and share their feedback.

What’s involved in this?

We will enable Jira Custom Templates on any of your Jira instances (it could be your sandbox or test instance(s)). We’ll also invite you to join a private online community group where you can report bugs, ask questions, suggest ideas, and generally join the Jira product team conversation.

We may also email you directly with questions outside of the online group.

How long will the EAP last?

The EAP will run for approximately one month, until early April 2025.

How do I sign up?

The EAP sing up is now closed.

The number of places in the EAP is limited. We will send you a separate email once your participation in the EAP is confirmed.

We have been wishing for this for years, but are "only" on premium.
Is it intended for this feature to be Enterprise only?

This should become a standard feature ASAP.

I've been wishing this for a long long time. I absolutely hate it that I have to manually configure each and every project to match our company's style.

This sounds amazing, but I am in the same boat as Rune.  We are only on premium.  I would hope this would be available to premium users as well.

Great! A feature we have been waiting for, for years. Wondering how this differs from the apps on the marketplace? Deep Clone, Configuration manager for Jira (CMJ), Project& Issue Templates, Templating.App, Converton Project Templates for Jira, Blueprints Creator etc.

Speaking of which, even the most expensive addon in the marketplace costs 1/10th of upgrading to Enterprise will cost us (around $200,000 to get Enterprise) (except Blueprint Creator who really need to tweak their pricing scale). We won't be spending 200K just to get this. Disappointing.

I've never seen this article before, so I definitely didn't "watch" it, but I started my day with three or four emails related to edits in this article.

@Dmitry Melikov , do you know what setting I need to change so that I'll receive an update when one of you valued authors creates an article, without having to get an email every time you update it?

@Dmitry Melikov We're on an Enterprise plan and I'm interested in learning more about this new feature. I'll send an email as requested.

In the meantime, can you help me understand how this feature is different than the "Share settings with an existing project" feature that's currently available when you create a new project?
