I saw Atlassian's Jira Align product for planning and management. I'm curious if it has boards. Are they built solely based on time intervals? Are all the tasks in the organization's workspace uploaded there? For example, is it possible to upload tasks based on custom fields? Is it possible to move tasks between columns?
If anyone has already worked with this product, please share your thoughts. What are the actual pros and cons of this product?
My team isn't developers. We're an IT support team; we don't have releases or sprints. Our workflow is significantly different from, for example, that of developers.
Jira Align does have boards, but they are primarily used for Teams of Teams and above. For example there are several types of boards for the SAFe issue types of Features, Capabilities, Portfolio Epics and Themes. Yes, you could use Jira Align boards for Stories and Tasks, but the cost of doing so will be prohibitive for most organizations to license and rollout the product.
I assume you are already aware that Jira supports many different ways of working. It sounds like a Kanban board my be a better approach for you if you need to stay within Jira. Atlassian does have Jira Service Management that is specifically built for IT support Teams and other non-developer teams.
