Upcoming changes to support a new Jira Software parent field
Later this year, Jira Software Cloud will begin rolling out the new Parent field in company-managed projects. For more details about these changes, review Jira's Introducing the new Parent field in company-managed projects.
Once the Epic Link field has been fully removed from Jira Software Cloud, Jira Align will remove the setting Feature custom field on stories from connectors integrated with Jira Software Cloud instances. Instead, the Jira connector will automatically use the new Parent field, which is not a custom field.
The Feature custom field on stories setting will remain for connectors integrated with Jira Software Data Center and Server customers.
What you need to do
You don’t need to do anything in Jira Align to prepare for these updates.
The Jira connector already supports both the current Epic Link field and the new Parent field. Additionally, Jira Software will migrate any existing values to the new Parent field.
