Another migration point to consider for those of you moving from Service Desk/JSM Data Center to JSM Cloud: usernames and email addresses!

If your institution allows for setting a different primary email alias (like Microsoft 365 with the User Principal Name and the Mail property which may or may not match), make sure that value matches or can be converted from the user name from Data Center. The Data Center instance I migrated from was using Microsoft UPN (username@domain.edu), but because Atlassian does not support having multiple email addresses assigned to a single Atlassian account, we had to do some work with checking and updating Data Center usernames.

You can choose to not update this, but that means customers will need to sign into each separate account to view their migrated requests and any new requests, which is not very convenient. I have actually created a workaround for this using Assets and Automation which I am planning to write up as an article (eventually.)
