Higher Ed-gentic AI in Atlassian

Morning all!

Hoping everyone's start of the new semester is going swimmingly and without too many issues.

I was looking to start a conversation on how other Universities are using agentic AI across their processes as it pertains to higher education. Do you have agents that help with registration? Do you have agents that only assist with higher tier tech support? How much exposure do your users (students, staff, and faculty) actually have to Rovo?  What areas have improved, and are there any areas you thought agentic AI would be awesome, but wasn't quite what you expected?

As it stands right now, we have agents that support backend process for academic departments, but do have a very simple agent for users on our help center. We'd love to expand that one, but would like to see how other areas have implemented this.

Looking to see everyone's cool and efficient agentic AI processes, from the simple to the complex and how it helps with the experience at your area of higher ed.

Thanks!

Brandon

I don't know how the rest of the university is using AI. I use it to analyze and review academic program proposals and charters for technical review.

I manage several technical programs in Jira and use Rovo quite a bit for weekly, sprint, and monthly summaries as well as QBR preparation. Our team does a good job documenting work items and providing progress comments, so Rovo has good data from which to work.

The risk with AI in some use cases is that it is probabilistic rather than deterministic, i.e. the outcomes can change each iteration even with the same inputs. In some cases, automation will suffice for what the stakeholders want/need without AI.
