Hi community,
We’re excited to share a small update that makes it easier to view your goal details within your work. We’ve updated the static goal headings in Jira Plans to interactive Smart Links.
If you group your work by Goals in Jira Plans, those goals are now interactive, enabling:
Quick previews: Hover over a goal to see its current status and latest update.
Side-by-side view: Click a goal to open its full details in a side panel. You can see the description and success metrics right next to your Jira issues and timelines.
|
Before: Goal headings are not interactive |
After: Goal headings are smart links and displays goal details in context |
You’ve told us that being able to track work items directly against your Goals is critical for staying aligned and making informed decisions. We know that when you're in the middle of planning, you need to see exactly how your team's efforts are moving the needle on your strategic objectives.
This update is a key step in that direction. By bringing goal context directly into your planning environment, we’re closing the gap between your daily tasks and your big-picture strategy, ensuring that every team member has the visibility they need to succeed.
No action is required! If you have Goals enabled in your Jira site, your Plans will automatically start displaying these interactive links.
We've started rolling out the changes, and plan to reach 100% of sites by the end of week.
Q: Does this require a specific Jira tier?
A: This feature is available for all customers using Jira Plans (Premium and Enterprise) who also have Atlassian Goals enabled.
Q: Can I edit the goal from the side panel?
A: Yes! If you have the appropriate permissions in Atlassian Goals, you can click through the side panel to make edits.
Q: Where can I learn more?
A: Check out our https://support.atlassian.com/platform-experiences/docs/link-goals-and-projects-to-work-in-jira/.
