Performance and Scale Digest: 2025 Q4

Hey Atlassian Community,

It was wonderful to see so many of you at Team ‘25 in Barcelona. Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Admin booth!

Welcome to the Q4 edition of the Performance and Scale Digest, your go-to source for new and upcoming investments in Atlassian Cloud performance, scale, and reliability. There’s a lot to cover, so let’s dive in.

Enterprise-grade scalability

The following scale enhancements help the Atlassian platform grow with your organization by supporting more users and handling larger volumes of data.

Coming in 2026: Higher user limits for Jira Service Management and Confluence

Start planning now for these major increases:

  • Jira Service Management will raise its agent capacity from 20,000 to 50,000 agents in Q1 2026.

  • Confluence will raise its user limit from 150,000 to 250,000 users in H2 2026.

New 10 million object limit in Jira Service Management Assets

You can now store up to 10 million objects in JSM Assets, a 3.33x increase from the previous 3 million cap. This increase allows you to centralize more assets, map complex relationships, and resolve issues faster as your organization grows. Customers on the Service Collection Enterprise or Premium plan should contact their Account Manager or Solution Partner to enable the higher limit.

Performance improvements

These new upgrades and best practices help your teams work faster and more efficiently.

Faster work item searches in Jira

You asked for a better way to find Jira work items and we listened! Jira now supports “fuzzy” search using the contains (~) operator with the workItemKey field. Fuzzy search works in both the new and legacy JQL engines. This makes it easier to find work items using partial matches, which is especially helpful when you're searching across dozens of spaces or don't know the exact space key or work item number.

Faster CSV exports in Jira

CSV exports in Jira are now faster and can handle more extensive data sets. You can also track export progress and cancel exports if needed, giving you more control over the process.

TLS and firewall best practices for better performance in Atlassian Cloud

Want to prevent network slowdowns? We’ve published detailed guidance to help you optimize your network and security setup. Here are three key tips:

  • Allowlist Atlassian domains in your security tools to prevent slowdowns caused by TLS inspection

  • Enable HTTP/2 in your proxies and firewalls for faster, parallel data loading

  • Regularly test your network setup to ensure Atlassian traffic is using HTTP/2

Trusted reliability

Stay confident in your operations with new and improved tools that help keep your Atlassian apps healthy and your teams prepared for change.

System Health open beta in Administration

Now in open beta for all cloud plans, System Health is a new feature in Atlassian Administration that delivers personalized dashboards and automated alerts that show only the incidents affecting your sites and apps. This enables org admins to send more clear and timely incident communications to impacted teams.

Multiple Sandboxes are now available in Administration

Multiple Sandboxes lets your teams test and validate changes safely in isolated environments before deploying them to production. You can run parallel tests on new workflows, app configurations, and Marketplace apps, reducing risk and disruption to your live environments.

  • Enterprise customers get five complimentary sandboxes

  • Premium customers get one complimentary sandbox

  • Additional sandboxes can be purchased as needed
