Hello Atlassian Community!
Welcome to the 2025 Q2 performance and scale digest, your one-stop shop for the latest updates to Atlassian Cloud. This edition is packed with new improvements that drive collaboration at enterprise scale and help organizations work faster and manage environments more efficiently.
We’ve invested in enterprise-grade scalability this quarter by offering support for more users on a single Jira site.
Support for 100,000 users on a single Jira site
Jira Cloud now supports up to 100,000 users on a single site—a 2x increase from the previous user capacity. This vertical scaling milestone applies to Standard, Premium, and Enterprise plans at no additional charge. Now, enterprises can consolidate more users into a centralized environment.
By raising the user cap, we’re unlocking migrations for many of our largest Data Center customers and making it easier to expand Jira across the business. With more users collaborating in one place, teams can break down silos and better align to company-wide goals.
These new tools, enhancements, and APIs help your teams complete work faster.
Atlassian Command Line Interface (ACLI) in Jira
ACLI is generally available for all Jira Cloud plans! This powerful tool lets admins and technical users perform Jira tasks using text-based commands and scripts directly from their terminal. Whether you're automating bulk updates or streamlining Jira management across multiple sites, ACLI delivers faster execution, more granular control, and greater flexibility for completing work in Jira.
Rovo Dev CLI is also available for ACLI, bringing the power of Rovo Dev’s natural language capabilities for developers seeking faster, smarter coding!
2x faster load times in Confluence
We set out to make Confluence Cloud twice as fast, and that’s exactly what we did. By making deep investments in speed, scale, and user experience, Confluence now delivers 2x faster page and editing experience render times. Read on to learn about some of the key improvements.
Faster initial and transition page load times
Initial page load times are up to 2.4x faster.
Page transition load times are up to 1.8x faster.
Faster large page rendering
Confluence now loads large, content-rich pages incrementally, letting users start reading up to 4x faster and experience full page readiness up to 5x faster.
Reduced page shifting
Experience a smoother, more predictable page load, and take faster action with fewer mis-clicks. Page elements are now more stable, thanks to improvements to table rendering, large image resizing, Smart Link embeds, and many third-party Forge app frames. Bulk watch and unwatch APIs in Jira
Two new REST APIs are here to make notification management faster and smarter: the Bulk watch API and the Bulk unwatch API. With these endpoints, you can add or remove multiple watchers from Jira issues in just one call. Use them to keep the right people informed, reduce notification noise, and scale your workflows.
New organization APIs in Atlassian Administration
We’ve launched new user and group management APIs to give admins greater visibility and control across your Atlassian organizations. These new endpoints include:
Listing users and groups.
Retrieving user and group role assignments.
Viewing stats by user or group type (e.g., active users, IdP-synced groups).
The organization APIs will eventually replace older v1 versions, at which time you will be notified about how to move off of the deprecated APIs.
In case you’re not aware, we’ve heard from customers that the content manager is a great way to keep your Confluence spaces organized and clutter-free. Available for Premium and Enterprise plans, the content manager empowers admins to efficiently manage all space content—including pages and whiteboards—through a powerful, table-based interface. Instantly assess your content and take bulk actions like archiving, deleting, or changing ownership across hundreds of items at once.
That’s a wrap for the Q2 2025 Performance and Scale Digest! We look forward to hearing your feedback in the comments below.
