I use Jira to manage my team's activities with the Scrum methodology and Sprint control. Recently, tasks marked as 'done' are disappearing from the Sprint. This didn't happen before! This issue is making our work much harder. What could be happening?
In Jira, tasks marked as "Done" disappearing from the Sprint is typically due to board settings, workflow configurations, or Sprint auto-completion. By default, Jira removes completed tasks from the Active Sprint view once the Sprint is closed. To verify, check your board filter settings (Board Settings → General → Saved Filter) and ensure the JQL query isn’t excluding “Done” issues. Also, navigate to Board Settings → Columns to see if Jira is set to hide completed tasks after a specific timeframe. If the issue persists, confirm that tasks in the "Done" status have a proper Resolution set (e.g., “Completed” or “Fixed”). You can always view completed tasks in Sprint Reports under the Reports section. If nothing works, check with your Jira admin to review board permissions and settings.
Before you get into "Settings" etc. Please make sure you have hit the "Start sprint" button. Test a story and mark it "DONE". If it stays, that should resolve the issue.
