Will AI coding agents finally make developers love Jira?

I'm not sure AI agents will make developers ✨love✨ Jira, but they might remove many of the reasons developers dislike using it 😄 The biggest value I see is reducing manual updates and context switching. If an agent can pick up a well-defined work item, complete the routine work, create a PR and keep the progress visible in Jira then developers no longer need to constantly move information between different tools.

However, it will also make the quality of Jira work items even more important. Poor requirements and missing context will simply allow agents to produce the wrong result faster.

Every detail lives in jira already, so agents running the cloud can just pick them up and open PRs directly. Maybe I won't even have to open Jira, is that the intention of the Atlassian team? :D Talk to jira via slack, have an agent automatically open a pr and review in bitbucket/github
