Hi Community,
We’re sharing an important update about Atlassian Companion for Confluence Data Center. After reviewing usage patterns and the customer feedback, we’ve decided to retire Atlassian Companion in April 2027.
At that point, the Companion integration will be removed from Confluence Data Center. While Atlassian Companion may still be available through older versions and existing documentation, it will no longer be supported as an integrated Confluence Data Center feature. Once the integration is removed, customers will no longer be able to edit files directly from Confluence using Atlassian Companion. However, attachments can still be downloaded, edited locally, and uploaded back to Confluence as a new version. We will continue to provide security updates for Atlassian Companion until December 2027.
In line with the previously announced Data Center end-of-life timeline, we do not plan to introduce new features or develop a replacement for Atlassian Companion in Confluence Data Center.
We recognise that this change may affect some customer workflows and are providing advance notice to help teams plan accordingly, and we will share additional guidance and documentation updates as they become available.
