New Security Insights for Data Center: Move from vulnerable to verified

Keeping your Atlassian Data Center instances secure is a growing challenge. You’ve told us you need better visibility to manage your security posture effectively. To help, we’re introducing Security Insights, available soon through Portfolio Insights.

What’s Security Insights

This is your new security dashboard that shows which Jira and Confluence Data Center instances need immediate attention. With Security Insights, you can:

• identify unsupported product versions and critical vulnerabilities

• spot missing protections like Web Application Firewall (WAF) or hardening

• follow recommended steps to reach a secure baseline

Instead of guessing which advisories apply to you, you get insights tailored to your specific environment.

Why connect to Portfolio Insights

Connecting your Data Center instances to Portfolio Insights gives you a single view of your environment with insights into security posture, performance, and cloud readiness so you can see what needs attention and get recommendations to close gaps all in one place.

Get started

1. Connect your instances to Portfolio Insights if you haven’t done so yet. How to connect

2. Once connected, navigate to the Security tab to see your new security dashboard.

3. Start with highest-impact checks and use the recommended steps to remediate.

Just asking, what was the motivation to put the warnings, insights, etc. into a Cloud dashboard instead of directly into the data center instance? I'll don't think this is technically needed.

Can I change this cycle or update status report from DC instance?

We chose Portfolio Insights because the main problem customers raised was portfolio‑level visibility across multiple DC instances and hybrid (DC + Cloud) setups, not just adding more panels inside each product. A central dashboard lets admins compare risk across instances, prioritize where to act first, and get new checks and improvements without waiting for every DC upgrade. That said, we really appreciate feedback like yours and will use it to guide where we bring new insights next.

The “re‑assess every 28 days” label in Portfolio Insights applies only to Cloud readiness assessments. For Security Insights, data refreshes much more frequently: when your Data Center instance is connected to Admin Hub, the current security score updates about every two hours, and the Security Health Over Time chart shows daily snapshots from the past week, each taken around 10:30 PM UTC.
