Cloud Connectors Now Supported on Previous LTS Versions of Jira & Confluence

Last year we introduced OAuth 2.0 and Cloud Connectors (Unified DC–Cloud Connectivity), a simpler and more secure way to connect Atlassian Data Center to Cloud, starting with the Jira 11.3 and Confluence 10.2 (2025)

Today we’re sharing two updates that build on that foundation:

• Cloud Connectors are now supported on the previous LTS (LTS–1) — Jira 10.3 and Confluence 9.2 — delivered in an upcoming bug-fix release, so you no longer need to be on the very latest LTS to get started.

• The Application Links and Cloud Connectors admin screens are now more accessible and easier to navigate with a keyboard and screen reader.

Now supported versions

• Jira Data Center: 11.3 (current LTS) and 10.3 (previous LTS / LTS–1)

• Confluence Data Center: 10.2 (current LTS) and 9.2 (previous LTS / LTS–1)

Cloud Connectors will be available on Jira 10.3.23 and Confluence 9.2.22 from the upcoming bug-fix release on each of those LTS lines.

🔌 Cloud Connectors now available on in LTS–1

When we first launched Cloud Connectors, they were available starting with the 2025 LTS releases — Jira 11.3 and Confluence 10.2. We heard clearly from customers that not everyone is able to move to the newest LTS straight away, and that the requirement was holding back adoption of hybrid DC–Cloud connectivity.

To remove that barrier, we’ve backported Cloud Connectors to the previous LTS (LTS–1) — Jira 10.3 and Confluence 9.2. This means you can now set up and manage secure, OAuth 2.0–based connections between your Data Center instance and Atlassian Cloud — all from the Atlassian Admin Hub — on a wider range of supported versions. These changes bring security enhancements and streamline the process of creating connections and we are deprecating Container Token Connections

What you get is the same as on the latest LTS:

• Centralised management — set up and manage all of your DC–Cloud connections from one place in the Admin Hub.

• Stronger security — industry-standard OAuth 2.0 for authentication and authorisation.

• Application Links at the core — Application Links remain the backbone of product-to-product integration, now enhanced with OAuth 2.0.

Cloud Connectors will be available on LTS–1 from the upcoming bug-fix release of Jira 10.3 and Confluence 9.2. If you’re currently on one of these previous LTS lines, you’ll be able to take advantage of Cloud Connectors simply by updating to that bug-fix version — no major upgrade required.

♿ A more accessible Application Links experience

Accessibility is a core part of building software that works for everyone. As part of this release, we’ve completed a focused round of accessibility (a11y) improvements across the Application Links and Cloud Connectors admin screens, with the goal of making them easier and more reliable to use with a keyboard and screen reader.

These fixes are included in the Application Links backport and in newer Application Links releases, so they ship alongside the connectivity work described above.

Highlights of what’s improved:

• Better keyboard navigation — focus is now correctly returned to the element you started from when dialogs and drawers (for example “Connect data source”, “Rotate credentials” and “Review connection request”) are closed, including when dismissed with the Esc key.

• Clearer screen-reader experience — dialogs and drawers now have meaningful accessible names, info icons and status indicators are properly labelled and reachable, and empty states in the Connected Sources table are now announced.

• Correct heading and reading structure — heading levels have been corrected and presentational text no longer uses heading tags, so screen-reader users can navigate the page structure as expected.

• More descriptive labels — controls such as table expand buttons and radio options now have useful, human-readable labels instead of internal identifiers.

• Cleaner markup — unnecessary ARIA attributes on decorative images have been removed, and decorative icons are no longer exposed as interactive elements.

• Improved page titles — the browser tab title on the Application Links admin page now updates to reflect the active tab.

• Resilient layout at zoom — content and focus indicators in the Connected Sources table now hold up better at high zoom levels, in line with WCAG 2.2.

Individually these are small changes, but together they make a meaningful difference for admins who rely on assistive technology to set up and manage their connections.

If you’re on Jira 10.3 or Confluence 9.2, update to the upcoming bug-fix release, then go to the Admin Hub to connect your Data Center instance to Cloud with Cloud Connectors. If you’re already on Jira 11.3 or Confluence 10.2, the accessibility improvements above will arrive through the same Application Links updates will land in Confluence 10.2.14 and Jira 11.3.8
