How to trigger Crowd directory synchronization through external tools?

I need to get Crowd directories synchronized with Microsoft Active Directory.

In other words, once any changes made on AD we need to call synchronization process prgramatically. Is there any possiblity to do so?

Found JRA-25988 that might interest you. The first comment on Incremental Synchronisation by Mark could be an alternative to your requirement as well.
