I wanted to prepopulate my delegated crowd directory. Here are my steps.

  1. Create a LDAP connector directoy.
  2. Check all my users are in the LDAP connector directory : OK
  3. Use the Crowd import users tool to import users from LDAP Connector -> Delegated Directory
    Options : Overwrite = false
  4. All users imported but they are not part of the default groups set in Delegated Directory (jira-users, confluence-users).

What can I do ?

I guess I could do it directly in DB (Oracle) but I think that's kind of risky and messy...

To do it safer, how about use Bob Swift's Crowd Command line client?

You can probably script something using it.

I suspect the automatic default group memberships only work when users sign-in for the first time when the user account hasn't even been created yet.
