user mentions

I would like to know if we can use @mention functionality for groups,if not,if this will be available in the future releases and also if there is a way by which we can include a predefined list such as department and then address the list in some way

Currently you can only @ mention users. If you want to request it for groups, please create a new feature request here : http://jira.atlassian.com
