Did you mean:

user mention macro not valid

Markus Holzer June 14, 2018

dear support-Team,

we using confluence about 3 months. user-mention (@) worked fine. Also date-picker (//) worked fine.

Since a couple of days, both doesnt work anymore!

It seems, that the macros doesnt exists anymore! by clicking the +-DropDown (macro-menu), user-mention isnt shown anymore!

in editor using "@" happens nothing! the  @ sign is inserted as a normal sign - no popup opens.

I suppose, I changed anything with system-macros by accident. I activated the system-html-macro for testing purpose. In the meanwhile I disabled it again. But with no success.

I have absoultly no clue, why @ or // doenst work at all!

this is a very worthful feature!

thanks for helping

regards,

markus

Hi Markus,

Can you check that autocomplete wasn't accidentally disabled on your profile?

If not, do other users have the same issue? Does it occur in all browsers or only certain ones? Can you replicate it on more than one computer?

Regards,

Shannon

thx Shannon for your hint - but saddly autocompletion is not disabled.

All users are affected and miss the user-mention-macro AND the date-picker (//)

there must be a system-configuration which depends on these features....

Hi Markus,

There is within the profile but not for the entire instance for both of those things. There's an add-on called User mentions that controls the mentions, but it doesn't effect the date macro.

Could you try running a full system reindex and see if it helps your issue?

In addition, from my previous question, does this also occur in more than one browser?

Did you recently upgrade or anything prior to the issue breaking?

Dear Shannon,

I was in holidays last days...

thanks again for your feedback --> and you gave me the perfect hint!!!

1.) add-on "user mention" was DEACTIVATED

2.) add-on "inline comments" was DEACTIVATED

now both features (user-mention and date-picker) working perfect again!!!

Thanks a lot!

regards,

markus

by the way: I have absolutly no clue why both features were DEACTIVATED! I definitly didnt do that!

Update? is that possible?

Thank you for confirming, Markus.

It's possible that they didn't activate properly for some reason after a restart, if you didn't deactivate them. There may be some messages in your logs from the last restart that would mention if something couldn't activate properly.

Regards,

Shannon
