uploaded videos in .webm format do not display on the page all the time?

I create a video in IceCream Recoder .webm format

I load it from my desktop to the Confluence Cloud by dragging the video onto the page - the video is displayed.

If I go to another page and then return to the video page, the video is greyed out and not available.

If I go to the Insert Image on the Edit menu and reload the video it is show greyed out, with the file size and download button but loads all the same, and the same problem occurs.

Any clues?????

Hello Nicholas and welcome to the Community!

What you’re explaining does sound like strange behavior indeed, unfortunately, webm media types are not supported within Confluence. While it did temporarily display for you, it does sound like a caching relic cause what you saw and was quickly flushed once you navigated again from the page and back. There are feature requests already created for adding webm media type support into Confluence, you may find the requests here:

Please vote and watch the request that meets your platform. Watching will allow you to receive updates to the feature request in the future.
