Confluence is discontinued, but i can still download the latest version.  Will it let me upgrade? Or will it ask me for a new license key?

It is the license sales that has been discontinued, server is still being supported until Feb 2, 2024 when the support ends. Hence you are able to download the latest version and install it as long as you have a valid license. For more information see https://www.atlassian.com/migration/journey-to-cloud

You can upgrade to any version of Confluence released before the end of your licence.
