unable to grant admin privileges to an user in confluence

Our confluence admin is unable to grant admin privileges to another user. A screen shot of the problem attached herewith. The server log is not helpful at alladmin-error.PNG

Hi Sam,

Can I know is your user from LDAP? 

Have you check is your ldap configured with connector, read only with local group?

If the problem persists, could you please provide us a screenshot of your configuration and your atlassian-confluence.log so that we could review the log for you?
