Mevi,

What kind of data do you need to show in a table from the sidebar? Specifically the page tree? Please feel free to show us an example of what you are looking to do.

Shannon

Shannon Hi

Thank you for getting back on this ,suppose i have a page tree and on each of this page tree i have one doc type word doc or something alike ,is it possible to display some content of item that was picked from the page tree?

if i am selecting one of the tree pages ,it will show the page with the doc within

now i would like some of this doc content to be shown on the page

is it doable ?

thank you in advance

Mevi,

Let me see if I can understand your request correctly. Page Trees are a collection of pages within Confluence and their children, and do not contain any Word documents.

Therefore, I think that you maybe want to click on the page within the page tree, and if it contains a Word document as an attachment, also see some kind of preview of the Word document?

This exact workflow isn't possible in Confluence without you developing something in-house, but perhaps you would be able to include a view file macro in the sidebar using markup?

Regards,

Shannon

Yes that is correct , i understand ,view file macro  is something i already tried

but you right might need to develop in-house ,but where can i find good samples

code for that ?can you point me to the right direction ?

thank you for your support

Mevi,

You can create a User Macro for this, but you need to be already familiar with coding in order to do so.

For further information, have a look at our Confluence Server development documentation.

Shannon
