set the date of the blog post

No idea how I can set the date a blog is posted. I have to do weekly updates, but am new to the team and have to backdate my posts. Doesn't appear there is an option to do this.

Unfortunately, it's not currently possible to change the date of a blog post. It used to be possible to change the date at creation, but now there is no way to alter it. There's an open feature request to provide the ability to modify the date of a blog post, if you'd like to add a vote:
