selecting table cell content

Is there a shortcut ability to select the content of a table's cell when my cursor is within the table's cell?

I want to cut the content type something and then repaste the content

Example: I have a date 06-11-2015, I want to cut that date type // and then paste the date that was just cut so that it will convert the old format and use the date formatter format of 06 Nov 2015.

Hi Casey, we've tested version 6.3 and 6.8 for cutting and pasting dates. We don't have a Confluence specific shortcut to cut and paste content within cells, however you can use the general browser keyboard shortcuts.

For Chrome on Mac, this is:

Shift + Up to select content

Command + X to cut content

Command + V to paste content

Note: this lead me to the solution, as it depends on where the cursor is within the cell.  If the cursor is at the beginning of the cell then the sequence is

Shift + Down to select content

Command + X to cut content

Command + V to paste content

Note: there is an annoying issue that happens though

when I type the date and hit enter key, sometimes it add and extra line and sometimes it does not

it is amazing to me how buggy using confluence can be at times
