We’re going to install Confluence Server(starter license) in linux.
postgreSql will be used for DB.

It is predicted to occur the error when database is formed after installation.
After DB setting up, test connection is worked out, however, in the next step:

Network error: setupdbtype.action

error-page
We can't find that page. This could be because:

The page doesn't exist.
The page exists, but you don't have view permission for that space.

These issues arise constantly as above.

To solve them, we tried:

- to remove confluence and re-install (tried several time as changing installation path besides root)
- to authorize and change root in different ways.

However, we still cannot fix them and haven’t installed it for a week.

We attach the captured image so please check and reply.
Also we want to know if we can get help from atlassian team directly.

We would appreciate your prompt response.

Hello,

Thank you for including the steps you took along with the error output from when you attempted to configure Confluence with a database. The error itself does point to a database issue so we will focus on this.

With this being a database issue we would like to ensure you’re using a supported version of PostgreSQL with your Confluence instance. Confluence 6.15 supports Postgres 9.4 thru 9.6. Other versions of Postgres will not be supported and may cause similar issues to what you’re seeing. More information on this may be found at Supported Platforms.

Additionally, when setting up your database you must ensure it is created with UTF8 encoding. Any other encoding/collation will cause issues with Confluence.

Further information on the database setup may be found at Database Setup for PostgreSQL.

I hope this information proves helpful and you’re able to overcome your database error when setting up Confluence.

Regards,
Stephen Sifers
