"No remote application link" error in confluence.

Sumathy Soundararajan January 4, 2019

We are getting an alert once we login to confluence. What does it mean? What do we need to do?

Kindly suggest.

Sumathy,

I would recommend removing the application link and re-adding it.

If you have any issues when re-adding the link, please let us know what errors you see.

Regards,

Shannon

Hello Shannon,

Thanks for your input. If we do re-adding, I guess it will ask everyone to reset their password.

We can do it as its stage environment. But we can not do the same in prod.

Please suggest.

Thanks,

Sumathy

Sumathy,

It will not ask anyone to reset their password. You're only going to be removing and re-adding the link, so it may ask your users to login again when transitioning from one site to another.

If the same issue is occurring in production, then you will indeed need to do it there.

Regards,

Shannon

Hello Shannon,

Thanks a lot for your explanation. As we are very new to JIRA, please confirm whether the below needs to be performed for deleting and re-adding the application link.

Deleting the link:

Need to click on Delete button as shown below.

Re-adding the link:

To re-add the link, need to enter the link and to click on "Create New Link" as shown below.

Is there anything do we need to check before deleting/readding the link? Please advise.

Thanks,

Sumathy

Sumathy,

No, there's nothing you need to do prior to recreating the link. Simply remove the old link, and re-add as you expected.

You'll want to make sure your user is server admin on both instances. Have a look at Linking to another application for more details.

Regards,

Shannon
