Did you mean:

point to files on a file share

Hello,

I would like a local internal install of Confluence to point to a pdf on a network fileshare and open when clicked, not take me to the location.

I am trying to use it in an advanced web link formatted like this:

\\Fileshare\Level1\Level2\Document name with space.pdf

When clicking it after saving - nothing happens.  Hover over it - I see nothing in the browser.

I have tried

file://Fileshare\Level1\Level2\Document name with space.pdf

and

\\Fileshare\Level1\Level2\Document name%20with%20space.pdf

and

file:\\Fileshare\Level1\Level2\Document name%20with%20space.pdf

with no luck.

However if I do a file://\\Fileshare\Level1\Level2\ it opens the folder correctly.

Help?!

Thanks,

Mr. V

I think the problem is the browser rather than confluence. Some browsers have security settings that make it difficult to link to local files. The only solution I have found for that problem is to use Chrome with an addon found here.
