pagebreak User macro not working

I tried the steps mentioned here - https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/how-to-create-a-page-break-function-in-confluence-to-control-pagination-in-pdf-exports-735943076.html

It did not work. Is there a need to arrange the sections in a specific fashion or something? Does the pagebreak not work for certain type of content?

can you share the content of your page?

Did you check for example with the web developer tools that the new css settings are used?
