@mention works find on a blank page, list drops down and emails are sent. However, when I try to do this in a template (such as the macro Text data from ServiceRocket) it does not work. Thanks!

Which version of Confluence do you use and do you have server oder cloud version?
Another user tried to do the same here.
The answer there is, that there's already an issue reported for confluence cloud version
I have a similar problem since upgrading to 7.2.1 on server - alle mentions in a template are now listed as "unkonwn link". Anything I can do to get this working again?

I don't know if you've seen it already but the issue has been closed in Confluence server aswell, with version 7.2.2.
