import spaces into one unifying

Situation: many topics, which should be in one space, are separated into different spaces. Now I'd like to unify existing spaces, but how?

Intuitive approach:

I'd like to export a space, let's call movable (work's fine)

now I'd like to import movable's pages into to the root of an other space "host" <-- possible?

even better: import movable's pages as sub-pages of a page in space "host" <--??

Alternatively: is it possible to link a space "movable" into the "host" ?

Any known workarounds:
like export each space and do some work to join them manually, then re-import the union?

Hello Alexander,

Welcome to Atlassian Community. It's nice to meet you!

The problem with exporting and importing a space is that it's not possible to add to an existing space using this method. The import process checks that the space doesn't already exist before importing content. The only way to merge the spaces is by moving each page over to the new space.

Note that when you move a page, any attachments, comments, and child pages will also be moved. You can use this as a workaround to move more pages in bulk by making them children of a parent page. Then you would only need to move the parent page, and you can reorder the pages after moving them.

We do have a feature request to provide a merge spaces functionality, so please feel free to login to jira.atlassian.com if you aren't already and vote for the following request:

Let me know if you have any trouble or questions.

Regards,

Shannon
