how to create my own space?

I have read the "Create your personal space" article on this, however - when i click on my picture, there is no "Add personal space" option in the dropdown. 

Is this an access issue?

You are using the Cloud version of Confluence IF your URL ends with:  .atlassian.net

In that case, check with the administrator of your Confluence instance. Ask them to check if Personal Space Creation privileges are enabled for you.

These privilege settings (for both Groups and Individual Users) are in Confluence Administration > Security > Global Permissions > Licensed Users > Personal Space.

Are you on the server or cloud version of Confluence?

If you are on the cloud version, click on your profile picture -> My Confluence -> Personal Space.
