how do i decrypt the secret in the confluence page if the secret owner isn't available anymore

Is there a way to encrypt a secret if the owner of the secret is no longer available?

I have made myself the owner of this page.

I gave myself all the permissions in that space.

When I go into edit mode, I get a message that I don't have permission to edit the secret.

Is there any way I can change the owner of the secret or get permission to edit it?

Thanks in advance

Hi @u153675 ,

Most likely the secret is provided by an app.  Can you check and tell us if the secret controlled by a specific app?

Hi @marc -Collabello--Phase Locked- ,

Thank you for your reply. I'm not sure I understand your question....

I'm talking about the Edit Security & Encryption - Secret Macro (see also my screenshots). I am not aware that this macro is provided by an app. Can you tell me how to check this?

Thank you very much.

On creation any secret with this app it asks who can view, and who can edit.

To change permissions you should ask owner. You can find who added this macro through the page history.

That's how it works...

Internally, we have a rule that members of site-admins always should be added to the edit rights for all secrets.

So you are saying that there is no way to change the owner of the secret without the owner?
