how do I add link to jira task so the task subject displays

in wiki.atlassia.net, sometimes when I add a link to a task   (ie JR-1234)  its automatically a link AND it displays the task subject.   and other times I think I do the same and it doesn't and instead just displays the link address.

Confluence's Smart Links control this: Paste the Jira URL, click it, and use the display toolbar to change from a URL to Inline (issue key/title) or Card (summary/status).

Set default link behavior in your Atlassian account Link preferences. If a link remains a raw URL, be sure you have permissions for that Jira item.
