Hi,
We are using a dynamic tasklist macro (it lets you add/update Tasks without editing the whole page) and it stopped working properly somwhen during last week. Updates are not kept anymore.
The documentation for it has also disapeared: http://confluence.atlassian.com/x/LiEC
(already some timeago: https://web.archive.org/web/20110930065350/http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Tasklist+Macro)
Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
Thanks!
Simon
Hi Rob,
Thank you for the quick answer!
Unfortunately not only adding new task doesn't work anymore but all updates in the list (eg. changes to existing tasks like marking it as complete).
Funnily we encountered this issue about 1.5 years ago ..and about half a year ago I noticed that te dynamic list worked again (full functionality incl. adding new tasks and updating, assigning and completing existing tasks). Now since last week it doesn't work again.
In between (and currently) it was possible to edit the code, which is visible in the macro element when in editing mode, manually (eg. marking a task as complete by changing the "F" flag to a "T" flag). This currently still works, but now suddenly other users get an error message in Conflluence (everywhere, incl. spaces and people overviews, except the page where the task list is located). There is no visible issue when sombody gets this error (normally a page doesn't display or doesn't display correctly when this message appears). I, who manually edited the code in the old task macro don't get the error.

The new solution for tasks in confluence (with the check boxes) is a bit clunky and most importantly it does not support our favorite feature of the old solution: You didn't have to edit the full page but could directly add tasks to a task list without entering edit mode (..and visually the Task List box is much more appealing then the plain list of single check-boxes ; )
The dynamic solution for the creation and maintenance of lists without needing to editing the page was great and because we do not really need the assignment/management features of the new "check box" task list solution, the workaround for us would be to use a simple plain bullet list.
Is there any other solution to add information to a page without putting it into edit mode?
Best,
Simon
Hi Simon,
I wish there was! But it seems that all page changes need to go through the Edit process now, which I suspect has something to do with the Collaborative Editing changes (although obviously only Atlassian know for sure).
I'm not aware of any task list clones that give you the same look and feel or experience, but you might be able to find something on the Atlassian Marketplace that hits the spot for you. You've got my sympathy, it always sucks when a feature you rely on and love is taken away

Hi Simon,
The Task List macro can no longer be added to pages in Cloud. Existing macro usage will still work, but you can't add new tasks. See the Notes here.
