confluence PDF Export Gives "Page Not Found" Error

Xie Chen April 10, 2019

Hi, I was trying to export my page to PDF but encounter this error " Page Not Found"

We can't find that page. This could be because:

  • The page doesn't exist.
  • The page exists, but you don't have view permission for that space.

However, I can export to word file but not PDF.  I had tried to reboot the system few times. But still couldn't resolve the issue.

Xie,

Hello, thank you for reaching out! Happy to help look into this issue for you.

Can you tell me:

  1. What version of Confluence are you running?
  2. Does this occur for all pages?
  3. Does the name of the page have any special characters in it?
  4. Does this occur for all users?

Thank you for your help.

Regards,

Shannon

Hi Shannon,

Thank you for helping me look into the issue. Please see the detail information below.

1. Confluence version: 6.14.2

2. The issue occur for all pages.

3. The name of page doesn't have any special characters (eg. "test" as the page name)

4. I'm the only user for this confluence product.

Thank you.

Xie,

Thank you for verifying.

We'll need to see your Confluence logs because this is definitely not a regular issue. I would recommend opening the server logs and tail them, then trigger the error. You'll be able to match the timestamp with the exact time that you triggered the error.

It might also help if you aren't using english as your Confluence language, to set it to english temporarily and see if you still have the issue.

Regards,

Shannon

Xie,

Thank you for confirming! A lot of issues can occur when english isn't the language set on Confluence so I just wanted to rule that out.

Let's try the following:

  1. Can you confirm there are no PDF customisations set on the instance?
  2. Enable safe mode on your Confluence instance and try to replicate the issue.
  3. Create a single page with just text, no images, and see if you can successfully export this.

Regards,

Shannon
