In our company we use Confluence 5.6. (server) Is there any plugiun or way to install better picture and pdf viewer?
The media viewer in Confluence 5.6.3 not support image zoom in/out and also does not display pdf.
The PDF preview in Confluence 5.9.4 might meet or exceed your preview/view requirements. It includes zoom in/out, etc.
As to which version(s) started to include a better PDF viewer, you might consult the release notes:
