I just made a lot of rookie mistakes with app free trials, or jira free trial of service management, and i want to remove the apps and not get billed for the free trial, but i also just want the whole cloud except my Loom to be erased. Because we studied the apps, we know better now, we just wish we could start over.

We're a tiny nonprofit and we just don't want the experience ruined by having to keep looking up solutions to delete every little thing, especially apps we didn't even get to try because we did things wrong. We know better now, we just want to quickly start over.

PS. I know to get another chance with the free trials of apps is a whole other problem that I'll need approval for from the app developers and/or Atlassian, that's fine. We still prefer to wipe everything and reach out later about the apps.

If your goal is simply to start fresh, you have a couple of options:

  • Cancel any active product or app trials from Atlassian Administration → Billing → and manage each individual subscription to make sure they don't convert to paid subscriptions.
  • If you no longer need the current site at all, it may actually be easier to delete the Atlassian Cloud site and create a new one rather than trying to clean up every project, space, workflow, and app configuration individually.

If you're unsure whether any trials are still active or whether deleting the site will affect your Loom account, I'd also recommend opening an Atlassian support request before deleting anything. They can confirm your subscriptions and help ensure you won't be billed unexpectedly.

Hi @Alessandra Veliz

Do you know that you can get a free Teamwork collection as a nonprofit?
You can read the announcement here: https://www.atlassian.com/blog/announcements/new-nonprofit-discounts

To remove the setting I would handle this in two quick moves, so you stop any billing first, then get your clean slate:

- To stop app trial charges right away, go to each product and remove the apps at Settings (gear) > Apps > Manage apps, then uninstall each one. Trials do not convert to paid once the app is gone.

- To truly start over rather than clean up piece by piece, I would remove the whole products instead of deleting content manually. Go to admin.atlassian.com > your site > Products, and cancel or unsubscribe Jira and Confluence. This wipes their data after the retention period and is far faster than deleting spaces, projects, and settings one at a time.

Your Loom is a separate product and stays untouched by this, so canceling Jira and Confluence will not affect it.

One thing to confirm before you cancel: whether you want the products completely removed (fresh signup later) or just emptied. If you only cancel and later re-add, some old data can return within the retention window, so for a genuine reset, the product removal route is cleaner.

Cheers, Martin

Hi @Alessandra Veliz ,

On top of what the guys have said, here's an official support article on resetting/deleting data (for cloud apps): Reset and delete all data from your cloud site 📚

And I can just praise what Martin had said for non-profits - I'm part of one non-profit sports club, and we now run everything on Jira, Confluence, and Loom as part of the free Teamwork Collection 🙂
Pretty cool stuff!

Cheers,
Tobi
