Word Macro does not load.

So i am having the same issue as is detailed on this bug report CONFCLOUD-68979 However the workaround does not work for me. Unless I'm misunderstanding something.

So I tried the following

1. Create an attachment table

2. attach the file on the page I wanted the word macro

3. add word macro, use the current page (With the attached file)

4. Select the correct file

5. Nothing happens, no preview, cannot insert the file.

Does anyone know if I am doing it wrong or has the bug "gotten worse"?

As I understand, you are facing the bug described under:

• [Confluence Cloud] Office macros can't open files from another page on the new editor

I tried to follow the workaround in two ways:

1. By specifying the current page
2. By leaving the page field blank

When I tried to specify the current page, the macro does not allow me to insert the macro on the page. Which means I can reliably replicate this behavior.

The second method, leaving the page field blank yields the desired results. I was able to insert the macro and it correctly displays the .XLSX file. Here we have some screenshots of it:

Since this is not the expected behavior, I have raised another bug report and you can check it here:

I have updated the report to include this piece of information:

Attach the Office file to the current page and insert the macro without specifying a page name in the “Page Name” field. This will prompt the macro to look into the current page.

Hi all,

I am having this same issue in Confluence Server. By leaving the page name blank I am able to choose the attachment. Is this something the vendor is looking at fixing?
