With OpenAM how do I set up AMconfig.properties configuration to work with JIRA and Confluence?

I have configured OpenAM for use with some of our services and the last 2 I need to integrate are JIRA and Confluence. The documentation provided by the OpenAM site is not very clear on the AMConfig.properties file. Without the AMConfig.properties file I am unable to use the OpenAM login as I get an infinite redirect error after successfully signing in. If anyone here has experience setting up this environment it would help me out.
