Wildcard search on confluence

Deleted user May 16, 2017

Hi there,

we have the following problem:

When using the standard search field and looking for "Unterlagen" confluence will give us 312 results. When searching for "Unterla?en" we get no results. Is this the expected behaviour?

Shouldn´t "Unterlagen" deliver almost the same result as "Unterla?en"? I already rebuilt the search cache - didn´t make anything better.

Confluence Version: 6.0.7

Best regards

Simon

Hi,

thanks for your reply. I just went through that guide but still "Unterla?en" doesn´t show anything - its not working as supposed, am I right?

Should "Unterlagen" and "Unterla?en" deliver the same results?

Thanks a lot and best regards
Simon

Yes, "Unterlagen" and "Unterla?en" should produce the same search results:

Since your index is not working as expected and you already reindexed from scratch it would be worthwhile to open a support ticket to have your logs examined.

Your index is not working as expected with regard to the wildcard search.

When you rebuilt the cache, did you do it "from scratch" - deleting the index directories and restarting Confluence as described in How to rebuild the content indexes from scratch on Confluence server?

Your example doesn't have an umlaut but I wanted to let you know about: Search with wildcard and german umlauts fails
