You lose a nice simple text-based markup, but you will gain:

  • An editor closer to WYSIWYG
  • Speed
  • Security (3.x should not be allowed on the internet, it leaks too much personal data.  For security you need to be on 6.12 at a minimum, and that jumps to 6.13 in a few weeks - please, go to 6.15 asap)
  • Closer integration with the rest of the Atlassian stack
  • Collaborative editing
  • Being supported

There's a load more, but I'm not going to read 8 years of release notes for the less important points.  You absolutely should upgrade, do it as soon as you can.

Thank you.    In the current version, do you can program the publication of a page?

Security fixes, performance improvements, and functionality improvements. You could also be on a version of Confluence that is supported by Atlassian.

What is holding you back from upgrading? The main advantages to you and your organisation depend on why you are on such and old version and how you use Confluence.
