Why does the task list macro not show all open action items within the space?

When adding the Task List macro to a page, not all open tasks are displayed even with no label filter included.  For example, I have a page called Meeting Notes.  On this page, I have the Task List macro and it displays action items from all of the meeting notes pages created as children.  I have a sibling page to the Meeting Notes page for feature designs.  The child pages there are for specific features.  Each feature may have some action items and I want them to all display in the meeting notes page, or better, on the space home page in the task list but only the tasks from the Meeting Notes pages display.  I verified the macro is not filtering on label or anything else.

Hello @Kevin Hoelzel !

As I understand, the Task Report macro within your Confluence page shows tasks from the page in where it is placed. Tasks within child pages are not displayed.

I tried to replicate this behavior by doing the following:

  1. Create a new page using the New Editor (Fabric). Let us call this page NewPage-00
  2. Place three tasks in NewPage-00
  3. Insert the Task Report macro
  4. Publish NewPage-00
  5. Check that the recently created tasks are shown
  6. Create a child page under NewPage-00. Let us call this page ChildPage-00
  7. Place three tasks in ChildPage-00
  8. Publish ChildPage-00
  9. Go back to NewPage-00
  10. Check that the tasks created under ChildPage-00 are displayed there

Here are some screenshots of what I see when performing the flow described above:

Child page with tasks:

Parent page with tasks and Task Report macro:

One thing that we might want to look into is the current status of the tasks. If they are marked as complete, the Task Report Macro will not display them by default:

If we select to display tasks that are marked as complete, the incomplete ones will not be displayed as result. Only complete ones will be displayed.

With this in mind, I would like to ask you a few questions:

  1. Is this happening if you create a new page and a new child page and place tasks within them?
  2. Would it be possible for you to check the current status of the tasks that are not displayed within the Task Report macro?
  3. Would it be possible for you to check the current selected status of tasks to be displayed within the Task Report macro?

Let us hear from you!
