Why does right-clicking on a link navigate to it?

Right-clicking on a URL should open a context menu allowing me to copy the URL, etc.  But in confluence, and even on THIS community forum (for example right click on my name on this question), that's broken.  Yes the context menu opens, but the browser is also told to navigate to the link, which is wrong.  Right-clicking on a URL should not navigate the page.  (I'm using Safari on macOS)

interesting @Randino  - I can't replicate that on the forums (Mac OS with Chrome).

I'd be curious about @Tansu Akdeniz 's question, also what other modifications you may have? e.g. if I CMD+Click on a link that opens in a new tab...

Does the same behavior occur in another browser? Does it happen on all links?
