Why does a multiple page document only upload and insert one page?

Dawnn Burrell March 15, 2019

When I upload and insert a multiple page document only one page uploads.  Is there another step to see all pages?

Dawnn,

What kind of document is causing this issue? Is it specifically Word documents, or are you having the issue with others, such as Excel, PDF, etc.?

What version of Confluence are you using, and what version of your document editor was the document generated from?

Regards,

Shannon

It is a Word document and then I saved the same document as a PDF and it happened to both documents.  The Word Version is 1901, the PDF Version is 1.7 (Acrobat 8.x) and Confluence Version is 6.13.0.

That's great, thank you so much for the detailed information.

  1. Could you tell me what version is 1901? I searched a bit online; I think it might be Office 365? Can you confirm that with me?
  2. I'm not able to replicate this myself, so can you tell me if it's with every document you create, or does this occur with only the one you're working on now? Does it have any special images or graphics that could cause it?
  3. I would also recommend you have a look at your Confluence server logs while replicating the issue. It can tell us if there's a specific problem causing the page not to load.
  4. Lastly, please provide us a screenshot of the issue you're seeing so we can compare it in case other users have the same problem.

Take care!

Regards,

Shannon

1.  Version 1901 is Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus.

2.  This was the first time I tried it.  The document has text and images.

3.  I will have our IT support look up the Confluence server log.

4.  I am sorry I won't be able to provide you with a screenshot of the document because the contents of the document has a Disclaimer:  CONFIDENTIAL FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY...

Dawnn,

It's no problem if you're not able to provide the original document. Is there any way you could create a test document and confirm with me if the same happens, or if it's only for this specific internal document?

Let me know what your support team found in the server log.

Thank you!
Shannon

Hi Shannon:

I tried copying and pasting the test document, but it wouldn't paste within this message.   How do I paste it within this message?

Thanks much.

Dawnn,

You're trying to attach the document itself? It's not possible to attach files here. You'll need to use something like Dropbox.

Thank you!

Shannon

Hi Shannon:

I uploaded a multiple page document again.  Once again only one page appeared within Confluence, but when I clicked on the page I was able to see all the pages.  I'm not sure why it worked this time, but I'm glad it did.  I also tried it again with a different document and it worked.

Thanks so much for all your help.

Dawnn
