Why all pages i create become a sub-page of the one before?

I know how to create a page yet each page I create becomes a sub-page of the one before. How can I avoid that?

Confluence needs to know where you want to place a page in the tree, and defaults to using "under the current page".  If you don't assume that, it's going to have to ask you where you want the page every single time.

Either

• change the location when creating the page
• go to the page you want to create it under before creating it
• rearrange pages later
