Why Symbols in tables mess tables of contents macro?

Hello All,

I have recently started started using Symbols in my Page Tables, but that symbol shows up in Table of contents Macro as a content Head. I'm on Old version of web based Confluence, please help me resolve this. Remind you that these Symbols are inside the Tables. It does look like this.

Anyways Guys I have found that these symbols are not Provided in Symbols table and Team member copied it from somewhere else.

So I have asked them to use + sign with the normal Up arrow provided in Symbols table for increment. I hope this helps someone.
