While a new user logging to Jira/confluence ,they are automatically be assigned to usergroups

While a new user logging to Jira/confluence ,they are automatically be assigned to usergroups.

In this usecase we want the external customers not to access other spaces in confluence or projects in Jira. But while logging , they are automatically added to general usergroups. How can we change that?

Consider the imageScreenshot 2024-06-07 at 10.07.15 AM.png I've attached. Im only adding a particular usergroup while inviting. But when they are logging in they would be part of our other 2 general user groups as well. Please help

Check to see what groups you have listed as 'default' groups.  Remove the ones you don't want to be the default.
